David Gold says that he will remain the West Ham United co-chairman despite mass protest.

West Ham United co-chairman David Gold has told Claret and Hugh that he does not plan to leave the club.

There was a mass protest against Gold and co-chairman David Sullivan at the London Stadium in the Premier League game between West Ham and Burnley on Saturday afternoon.

The West Ham fans are frustrated with the club’s board, and there was pitch invasion at the London Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Gold, though, has stated that he has no intention of leaving the Hammers, and told Claret and Hugh: “I have no objection whatsoever to those who don’t like the way we run the club.

“Many of them are very decent people who argue their case passionately and intelligently – that’s fine.

“But I will never be driven away from anything by the behaviour I saw today. It won’t happen because of all the decent fans out there.”

Strong decision

Gold’s decision is quite strong and admirable, as it shows that he has the best interests of West Ham at heart.

While fans have the right to express their feelings, the way some behaved at the London Stadium on Saturday afternoon was terrible.

If West Ham fans want change and want the club’s co-chairmen to hear them, then they should voice their opinion differently and constructively.

West Ham are in real danger of getting relegated to the Championship at the end of the season, and the players need the backing of the fans.
