West Ham United have confirmed that Adrian is leaving the club.

West Ham United have announced that a whole host of players are leaving the club this summer – and goalkeeper Adrian is one of them.

The Hammers are looking to build on a top half finish, and part of that involves getting rid of some of the deadwood to bring in new recruits this summer.

Andy Carroll and Samir Nasri are going, as are Toni Martinez, Moses Makasi, Noel Sylvestre, Vashon Neufville and Josh Pask, with Adrian also leaving.

The Spanish goalkeeper, 32, has racked up 150 appearances for West Ham since signing from Real Betis in 2013, becoming popular with Hammers fans.

He had to sit on the sidelines watching Lukasz Fabianski between the sticks this season though, and he’s now decided to move on.

Adrian will become a free agent next month, and one Hammers fan has taken to Twitter to ask just why he’s been let go, fearing that he’ll join rivals Crystal Palace – despite them having Vicente Guaita and Wayne Hennessey.

Gold responded, revealing that Adrian is ‘desperate’ to play first-team football after a season on the West Ham bench, meaning a move to Palace may not be on the cards after all.
