West Ham United co-chairman David Gold has responded to a fan’s critical comments on Twitter.
Gold has said that when he and David Sullivan bought the club, Tony Fernandes was also interested in purchasing West Ham.
The English businessman has said that Fernandes since took over Queens Park Rangers, who are still in the Championship.
Gold was probably trying to make the point that he and fellow co-chairman Sullivan have been good for West Ham.
West Ham United are flying
West Ham are flying at the moment and appear to be in the running for the Champions League places in the Premier League table.
David Moyes’s side are sixth in the standings with 39 points from 23 matches, just a point behind fourth-placed and defending English champions Liverpool, who have played 24 games.

Not many would have expected the Hammers to be in this position at the start of the season, but things are looking very promising for the London club.
West Ham will return to action on Monday evening when they take on Sheffield United at the London Stadium in the Premier League.
