West Ham United beat Burnley 2-1 at Turf Moor on Sunday.
West Ham co chairman David Gold
West Ham United co-chairman David Gold has taken to Twitter to comment on the club’s 2-1 away win over Burnley on Sunday afternoon.
The Hammers were thumped 4-0 at home by Liverpool in their penultimate game of the season, and travelled to East Lancashire in the hope of ending the campaign with three points.
Sam Vokes put Burnley in front in the 23rd minute, but West Ham quickly hit back, with winger Sofiane Feghouli equalising just four minutes later.
It was Slaven Bilic’s men who pushed for the win and got the goal they wanted, as Edimilson Fernandes’ shot was pushed onto the crossbar by Tom Heaton, leaving Andre Ayew to head home from close range.

The win means that West Ham finish the season in 11th place in the Premier League table after a disappointing campaign, 11 points clear of the relegation zone but 16 points behind seventh-placed Everton.
West Ham will hope for better next season, which starts with better work in the summer transfer market, and co-chairman David Gold took to Twitter to send a message to fans.
West Ham United’s Declan Rice
Gold hailed the win given that West Ham were missing nine players through injury, noting that defender James Collins played through the pain to help the Hammers claim all three points.
Gold added a congratulatory message for 18-year-old Declan Rice, who came on for his Premier League debut as an injury-time substitute, and Gold tipped the Irishman for a bright future.
