West Ham United have assembled some of the Premier League’s brightest youngsters.
David Gold has suggested on West Ham United’s official site that he is hoping to see Reece Oxford, Reece Burke and Martin Samuelsen break into the first-team in the near future.
Oxford made 12 appearances for West Ham last season, with Slaven Bilic starting to break the youngster into the senior squad.
Burke and Samuelsen, meanwhile, were sent out on loan to Bradford City and Peterborough United respectively.
The pair both impressed on their temporary spells away from West Ham, and Gold is excited by the potential the trio have for the future.
“Reece Oxford and Reece Burke are two of the most-talented young defenders coming through in this country,” Gold said.
“Then you have Martin Samuelsen who made his full international debut this week and I hope it is only a matter of time before he emerges into the first team.”
Burke won Bradford’s Player of the Season Award on his loan spell, after he put in a series of high quality performances.
Samuelsen, meanwhile, was used more sporadically at Peterborough – but his skill caught the eye.
Samuelsen has also recently made his senior debut for Norway, with his reputation continuing to grow.
The potential of the youngsters currently at West Ham was highlighted through their Premier League under-21 cup win last season.
