Cheikhou Kouyate headed West Ham in the lead in the 43rd minute, and Mauro Zarate doubled the advantage in the 57th minute.
Over the course of the 90 minutes at the Emirates Stadium in North London, West Ham had just 38% of the possession, took eight shots of which four were on target, and earned four corners.
Following the win, Gold stated on Twitter what Bilic had told him before the game.
West Ham played truly well against Arsenal and deserved the three points against their London rivals.
The Hammers are back in action on Saturday, when they take on relegation candidates Leicester City at the Boleyn Ground in the Premier League.
