The Spaniard signed a new five-year deal with West Ham United today.
Hammers co-owner David Gold took to his official Twitter account today to congratulate Pedro Obiang on signing a new five-year deal with the club, and proceeded to get slated by the club’s fans for the board’s failure to bring any new faces in.
The summer of 2016 saw West Ham embark on arguably the worst player recruitment drive in recent history, with a whole host of unproven foreign imports brought in, and a plethora of free signings.
Hammers fans were praying that things would be different this time around, but it seems like they will once again be disappointed.

Deals for Olivier Giroud, Michy Batshuayi and Kelechi Iheanacho seem to be moving further away from reality with every day that passes, and there is a genuine concern in east London that Slaven Bilic will head into the 2017/18 campaign with a squad nigh on identical to the one that so desperately struggled last term.
