West Ham chairman David Gold has announced on Twitter that striker Diafra Sakho will not be sold this summer, as he is an “integral part” of the first team.

Speculation was rife on Sakho’s future, who according to Sky Sports was angling a move to French side Rennes.

The 27-year-old old striker was expected to head back to France, with Rennes close to signing him on a £9million deal.

Premier League outfit Crystal Palace joined the race late on, and were willing to hijack Rennes’ move with a £10 million deal, according to Sky Sports.

Jack Sullivan, the son of West Ham co-owner David Sullivan, earlier took to Twitter to deny rumours of Sakho leaving the club.

And now, David Gold has also confirmed that the player is not for sale.

West Ham have made a poor start to their 2017/18 Premier League campaign, having lost all three matches so far.
