Has David Gold effectively confirmed that Reece Oxford is leaving West Ham United on loan?

West Ham United youngster Reece Oxford has been linked with a move to Borussia Monchengladbach this summer.

The Mirror reported on Friday that the 18-year-old would be sent out on loan for first-team experience, but that his long-term future was at West Ham.

And it would appear as if that was an accurate report after the Hammers’ co-chairman David Gold did not deny that was the case on Twitter.

Oxford remains a highly-rated part of West Ham United but a disappointing loan spell at Reading in the second half of last season has diminished his profile somewhat.

Nevertheless, he remains just 18 years of age, perhaps a victim of his own talent after impressing away to Arsenal in the Premier League at the age of 16 two years ago.

And as Gold said, his time will come sooner or later.
