West Ham United is a disjointed club at the moment and rows on Twitter aren’t helping anyone.

Slaven Bilic has turned what was threatening to be a disastrous first season at the Olympic Stadium around since Christmas but results have dipped again of late.

The club is relatively comfortabe in 11th place but with little prospect of finishing higher than ninth.

Fans have been making their feelings clear to the team and board on a number of issues from their unhappiness with the new stadium to broken promises over transfers and poor performances on the pitch.

Captain Mark Noble has further antagonised some supporters this week by telling Sky Sports: “If I am really honest, a lot of people who now go to football don’t really understand the game.”

Now co-owner David Gold has stoked another very public disagreement after biting back at a fan on Twitter with a negative perspective on the use of his and fellow co-owner David Sullivan’s money.

Gold was responding to a fan who informed him he would not be renewing his season ticket next term with a rant which he has since deleted.

Gold said: “David Sullivan and myself have sunk our life saving(s) into your club, we have never received a salary and Karren Brady and DS work around the clock. West Ham Til I Die?”

The tweets may have been deleted but were saved by the supporter beforehand.

It is easy to see why the response, which was branded ‘disgraceful’ by the supporter it was sent to, would upset Hammers fans.

The former Ann Summers owner also went on to warn another supporter who took to Twitter telling him and Sullivan to leave the club to ‘be careful what you wish for’.

One thing is for certain, though, these kind of very public rows don’t do West Ham any favours and make the club something of a laughing stock.
