West Ham’s Aaron Cresswell has been congratulated after being called up by England.
West Ham United left back Aaron Cresswell has received his first call-up to the England squad – and he’s received congratulations from a host of football personalities.
Cresswell, 26, has been one of West Ham’s most consistent performers since signing from Ipswich Town in the summer of 2014, with Hammers fans almost always impressed with his displays.

The former Tranmere Rovers man was excellent in his first two seasons in East London, and was sorely missed during the opening weeks of the season having been out through injury.
Now back and impressing, Cresswell has been handed the recognition many felt he deserved some time ago, as he has been called up to the England squad by Gareth Southgate.

With Danny Drinkwater dropping out of the squad to face Scotland and Spain, Southgate has opted to bring Cresswell into his squad, despite already having two left backs at his disposal in Danny Rose and Ryan Bertrand, though there are some fitness concerns over Rose.
Cresswell could finally make his England debut over the next week, and he has been congratulated on Twitter by many, including Hammers co-chairman David Gold.

Gold took to Twitter to offer his congratulations to Cresswell, whilst Sky Sports pundit Danny Higginbotham noted that the defender’s call-up was ‘long overdue’ after so many impressive displays.
West Ham coach Edin Terzic, Hammers left back Stephen Hendrie and ex-West Ham winger and England international Matt Jarvis also took to Twitter to send messages of support to Cresswell, who has finally been given the suitable recognition for his displays in East London.
