West Ham United boss Slaven Bilic will be hoping to have Andy Carroll back firing on all cylinders for the Chelsea game on Monday.
West Ham co chairmen David Sullivan and David Gold before the match
When writing his regular column for the club’s official website, Hammers co-chairman David Gold highlighted a potential selection dilemma for Slaven Bilic ahead of their upcoming clash with Premier League leaders Chelsea at the London Stadium on Monday night.
Andy Carroll is close to returning to full fitness, and the West Ham boss will be hoping to have him back and available for selection in time for their vital game against the Blues.
And Gold expressed his delight at Andre Ayew’s return to fitness and form, when writing his column for WHUFC.com, highlighting how Bilic now has an extremely difficult selection dilemma on his hands, with a whole host of quality forwards at his disposal:
“I was so pleased to see Andre back among the goals. He is our club record signing and is a very good player. He looks like he is getting back to his best form following a frustrating period through injury and we hope that can continue. With Andy Carroll hopefully returning to training this week, we have a lot of competition for places and it will be interesting to see what Slaven does for the Chelsea game.”

With 11 points separating the East Londoners and seventh placed Everton, Bilic’s men can ill-afford to drop too many more points if they are to make a sustained push for the final Europa League spot.
And victory over Antonio Conte’s men on Monday night will be a great boost to their chances of doing just that.
And with the return to full fitness of both Carroll and Ayew, things really are beginning to look up for the Hammers.
