Harry Kane is reportedly earning £110,000 a week at Tottenham.
Tottenham Hotspur icon David Ginola has told TalkSPORT that Spurs must hand Harry Kane a new contract, or risk their star striker being a main transfer target for Europe’s biggest clubs.
Kane, 24, is currently earning £110,000 a week according to the Daily Mail, a figure which is easily eclipsed by the highest earners at clubs such as Real Madrid, Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United.
The England international scored his 33rd goal of the season on Tuesday night, as Spurs came from two goals down to draw level with Juventus and give themselves an excellent chance of qualifying for the Champions League quarter finals.
And Ginola, who played for Spurs for three years between 1997 and 2000, urged the north London club to give Kane a new deal if they want to keep him beyond the summer as he continues to tear up record after record.
“If Kane does not sign a new contract with Spurs, then I think he will be top of the list [for all the big clubs]”, Ginola said, when asked if he thinks Kane will remain at Tottenham beyond the summer.
Kane had missed an easy chance before finding the back of the net in Turin, poking a header from close range straight at Gianluigi Buffon. However, he made sure the second time by rounding Buffon and finishing well with his weaker foot.
Kane could be given a well-deserved rest on Sunday as Spurs travel to Rochdale to face the rock-bottom League One side in the fifth round of the FA Cup.
