David Ginola believes the Tottenham man is worth around £100 million.

Tottenham's Harry Kane

David Ginola has suggested on talkSPORT that Tottenham Hotspur hitman Harry Kane is worth close to £100 million.

Speculation has mounted from The Independent that Manchester United have explored the idea of signing the 23-year-old – who won the Premier League’s Golden Boot last season after netting 29 top-flight goals – for £100 million.

The Spurs star is perhaps the world’s finest number nine at the moment, and if not then he is certainly in the conversation following an exceptional last few years with the North London outfit.

Asked what Kane would be worth after being told that Everton’s Romelu Lukaku was reportedly worth £100 million, Ginola told talkSPORT: “I think it would be similar [to Lukaku] and in the same region of money.”

The Independent reported on the weekend that Tottenham value Kane at closer to £200 million which, if true, should see him stay at the Lilywhites for the forseeable future.

The England international is pivotal to Tottenham’s hopes of success next season and beyond and although £200 million is a lot of money to use regarding a replacement, they might have to settle for an inferior striker given that there’s not many better than him.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side kick off their season with a trip to Newcastle on August 12.
