David Connolly suggests Sean Longstaff stay at Newcastle United

Newcastle United midfielder Sean Longstaff is reportedly on the radar of Manchester United.

David Connolly suggested on talkSPORT (6:57pm, June 15, 2019) that Sean Longstaff should not leave Newcastle United for Manchester United in the summer transfer window.

The former Sunderland striker rates Longstaff highly, and believes that it would be best for the 21-year-old midfielder if he stays at Newcastle for a bit longer.

According to The Manchester Evening News, Premier League giants United are interested in signing Longstaff from the Magpies in the summer transfer window.

Connolly said about Longstaff on talkSPORT (6:57pm, June 15, 2019): “I think he is a terrific young player, I really do.

“I think he has got a really bright future ahead of him, but I think he would be best served just going and playing a little bit longer at Newcastle.”

Manchester United are one of the biggest clubs in England and in the world, and it must be very tempting for any player to join the Red Devils.

Leaving Newcastle for the Red Devils would be a step-up for Longstaff, but the midfielder should not rush into making a decision.

The 21-year-old needs to evaluate how much playing time he would get at Old Trafford and the progress he would make under manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Longstaff made eight starts and one substitute appearance in the Premier League for Newcastle this past season, scoring one goal in the process, before injury affected him, according to WhoScored.
