David Beckham has stated that Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane produced a ‘captain’s performance’ as England beat Senegal 3-0 on Sunday at the Qatar World Cup, as he posted on his Instagram story.

After not scoring during the group stages for a free-scoring England side, the Tottenham hitman was on target during the first stages of the knockout rounds.

That’s goal number 11 at World Cups and Euros for Kane, becoming England’s all-time leading goalscorer at major tournaments, surpassing another former Spurs player in Gary Lineker to that record.

Added to that, Gareth Southgate’s side have also booked themselves a quarter-final ticket against none other than the current champions of the world in France.

Nonetheless, this is what Beckham wrote on his IG story when he was reacting to Kane’s performance.

‘Captain’s performance with and without the goal,” said Beckham.

Some will argue, the winner of Saturday’s heavyweight showdown between England and France will go on and win the tournament as a whole.

Along with the South American giants, England and France are the other favourites to go all the way.

And whilst a certain Lionel Messi will have to be stopped on the side of the draw.

On England’s side, fans will get to feast their eyes on Kylian Mbappe and Harry Kane, two goalscoring greats, going at each other’s teams.
