Steven Gerrard’s Ibrox club Glasgow Rangers and David Bates parted company this summer.

Bates joined Rangers on a development loan from Raith Rovers in the summer of 2016 until January 2017 and subsequently made the deal permanent.
The 21-year-old central defender left the Ibrox club on a permanent contract in the summer transfer window, with the youngster having already agreed to move to German side Hamburg back in April 2018.
The Scotland Under-21 international defender has outlined how Rangers and Hamburg are similar.
Bates told The Scottish Sun: “Rangers and Hamburg are similar size clubs and both sets of fans are very passionate. When you go into the city you get a few fans saying hi and asking for a photo.
“The mentality of the clubs are similar too. At Rangers if you drew or lost it was a disaster and it’s the same at Hamburg.”

Ambitions
Rangers have finished third in the Scottish Premiership for the past two seasons, and the Gers will be aiming to do better this campaign.
Steven Gerrard’s side are aiming to compete with Old Firm rivals Celtic for the Scottish Premiership title this season.
The Gers will also be playing in the group stage of the Europa League this campaign.
As for Hamburg, the German club are playing in the second division this season after getting relegated from the Bundesliga at the end of the 2017-18 campaign.
Hamburg are eighth in the league table at the moment with six points from three matches.
