Dave Sullivan, the son of West Ham United co-owner David, says Olivier Giroud strike was better than Dimitri Payet contender.

Hammers fans have not had much to shout about this season and it was a rare highlight as the France star danced past seven Boro players before fooling everyone by reversing the ball back across goal to score.

But Dave Sullivan – the son of Hammers chief David – has conceded that Olivier Giroud’s scorpion kick back-heel volley in the win over Crystal Palace was better and is deserving of the Goal of the Season accolade.
Giroud sent social media into meltdown with his sublime strike in the Gunners’ 2-0 win over Sam Allardyce’s side.

Debate raged over how much luck was involved in the strike and even Giroud himself conceded it was somewhat fortunate despite wowing viewers with the stylish finish to a ruthless counter attack.
“You won’t see a better goal than Giroud’s,” Sullivan junior posted on Twitter.
“He started the whole move with a back heel – 100% will be goal of the season.”
Some fans replied to Sullivan’s tweet poking fun at the transfer business conducted by his dad by insisting Simone Zaza – the flop striker loaned from Juventus – should win the award.
Zaza is set to have his loan terminated six months early after barely registering a shot on target let alone a goal in 11 appearances for the Hammers this season, just three shy of the £25 million obligation to buy clause which was inserted into the deal.
Another fan disagreed insisting Payet’s strike was better.
