Chris Coleman has already delivered his first victory as Sunderland boss.

Darron Gibson of Sunderland looks ok before the Carabao Cup First Round match between Bury and Sunderland at Gigg Lane on August 10, 2017 in Bury, England.

Darron Gibson has suggested to Sunderland’s official website that he has been very impressed by Chris Coleman’s first few training sessions at the club.

Gibson has featured in both of Coleman’s matches in charge of Sunderland so far.

And the central midfielder has suggested that he believes he will thrive under Sunderland’s new manager.

Gibson said: “Its gone well since he’s come in. Training has been different and I think the way we’re going to play is a lot different. He’s got off to a good start and it was probably our best performance of the season against Aston Villa, in terms of the way we played, and then we got the win at the weekend.

Wales' manager Chris Coleman follows the game from the touchline during the FIFA World Cup 2018 qualification football match between Georgia and Wales in Tbilisi on October 6, 2017.

“I think the way he wants to play will suit me down to the ground, but I think it will suit everyone because it gives us all more confidence and we know what we should be doing in and out of possession.”

Coleman’s arrival at Sunderland seems to have sparked an immediately improvement in the team, with the Black Cats picking up just their second victory of the season in midweek.

Chris Coleman, manager of Sunderland looks on during the Sky Bet Championship match between Aston Villa and Sunderland at Villa Park on November 21, 2017 in Birmingham, England.

Sunderland won 2-0 against Burton Albion, thanks to two late goals from James Vaughan and George Honeyman.

Sunderland are now off the bottom of the Championship table, and some optimism has come back to the Stadium of Light.

Coleman’s side are next in action at the weekend, when they take on Reading, and another victory could take the Black Cats out of the relegation zone, which would be a major boost for the Wearsiders.
