Newcastle United are third in the Championship table at present.

Former Newcastle United star Darren Peacock has told the Chronicle that there will always be comparisons with this side and the famous ‘Entertainers’ team but what Rafa Benitez’s team have done is already impressive.
The Magpies have adapted quickly to life in the Championship since their relegation from the Premier League last season.
They are currently third in the table with 22 points from their first 11 games and sit just three points behind surprise leaders Huddersfield Town.
It is fair to say they have been the most attractive team to watch scoring the most goals in the division.

Already comparisons are being made to that famous side that played under Kevin Keegan and Peacock says that reaction was always going to happen.
“There’s always going to be comparisons but what Rafa has done is impressive,” he told the Chronicle.
“There were players that had their feet under the table when he arrived but he’s changed all of that and that’s what needed to be done – it’s two totally different teams.”

It now remains to be seen if Rafa Benitez’s team can go one better than Keegan’s and enjoy some form of success.
They arguably have the strongest squad in the division and that should at least ensure they are contenders for an automatic promotion place.
As they have already learned in the defeats to Wolves, Huddersfield and Fulham there are no easy games at this level.
That means they will have to maintain their current high levels throughout the campaign, something the Entertainers failed to do.
