West Bromwich Albion earned a vital three points against Spurs yesterday.
West Brom boss Darren Moore addressed the media in the aftermath of his side’s superb 1-0 win over Tottenham at the Hawthorns yesterday, and shared what he told his players before the game, as quoted by the Express & Star.
The Baggies are amazingly still in with a chance of avoiding the drop after their win over Spurs and Everton’s 96th minute equaliser against Southampton.
Since Moore has taken the reigns at the Hawthorns, he has guided his side to three wins and two draws from five games, and many fans are calling for him to be given the job on a permanent basis.
The 44-year-old spoke to reporters in the aftermath of his side’s wonderful victory over Spurs, and opened up on the message that he gave his players before they took to the pitch, as quoted by the Express & Star:
“Before we approached the game today we said, it’s the last home game of the season, we want to win regardless of what happens outside. We want to win a game of football for West Bromwich Albion. We knew it would be difficult but we’ve achieved that with togetherness.”
In order to stay up, the Baggies need Swansea and Southampton to draw on Tuesday night, and for them both to lose their final games of the season next weekend.
They then need to beat Crystal Palace away on the final day of the season, but whatever happens, Moore has surely done enough to earn the chance of being in charge of West Brom on a permanent basis.
