Darren Moore hints that Craig Dawson will be used much more regularly at West Bromwich Albion

West Bromwich Albion defender Craig Dawson made his first appearance of the season in Darren Moore’s side’s latest match.

Darren Moore has suggested to West Bromwich Albion’s official website that he will continue to pick Craig Dawson regularly, after the defender made his return to his side’s first-team against Middlesbrough.

Dawson has not been picked for West Brom so far this season, after speculation over his future and his fitness levels over the summer.

But Dawson came back into Albion’s team against Middlesbrough, as a late substitute, and Moore is looking forward to seeing the 28-year-old available again.

“It was terrific for the group to have Craig back in the action again on Friday,” Moore said. “The fans do not need me to tell them how important a player he is for the club and he will be like a new signing.

“He’s got his fitness levels back up to where we can now look forward to him figuring strongly in our plans.”

When fit Dawson is one of West Brom’s finest defensive talents, and if he has come to terms with staying at the Hawthorns, then he should be a great addition to their line up.

The Baggies have not exactly looked rock solid at the back this term, but Dawson should offer them an injection of quality.

Dawson came on at centre-back for West Brom against Boro, but he could also be used at right-back as the season progresses, as Moore’s side are short of options in that position.

West Brom are next in action at the weekend, when they take on Stoke City at the Hawthorns.
