The Tottenham Hotspur youngster made his Doncaster Rovers debut on Saturday.
Darren Moore has explained why he brought the Tottenham Hotspur striker Kazaiah Sterling to Doncaster Rovers.
Sterling signed for Rovers on a season-long loan deal on Friday, and made his debut as a 70th-minute substitute against Fleetwood Town little more than 24 hours later.
It was only the 11th senior appearance of the 20-year-old’s career, after two for Tottenham and eight during a loan spell at Sunderland last season.
But from what Moore told BBC Radio Sheffield after the match, there could be plenty more to come for Sterling at Doncaster this season.
Asked about his decision to recruit the Tottenham academy product, the Rovers boss explained: “I just think with Kazaiah he offers us that extra dimension. He wants to get in behind defences.
“Once he settles down you’ll see his strengths and his quality.
“He’s powerful, he’s very quick and also he leads the line well. So I wanted to get him in because I just felt that in time, over the weeks when he settles down, he’ll give us another edge and another dimension, which we needed.
“With the chances that we’re creating at this moment in time, you can’t have enough attacking players on the pitch.”
Sterling helped his new temporary employers to a 3-2 victory over Fleetwood, although he was not directly involved in his side’s late winner, which came via a flick from the Town winger, Wes Burns.
