Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham United and Burnley are all reportedly interested in signing the West Bromwich Albion hitman.
West Brom boss Darren Moore spoke to reporters last night, and delivered an update on the future of reported Tottenham, West Ham and Burnley target Jay Rodriguez, suggesting that he still very much remains a Baggies player, as quoted by Sky Sports News.
Spurs, the Hammers and the Clarets are all interested in signing the 29-year-old front-man, according to a report from the Burnley Express, although West Brom’s £18 million valuation is still yet to be met.
Rodriguez joined the Baggies from Southampton in the summer of 2017, for a fee believed to be worth in the region of £12 million, and he went on to score 11 goals last season.
Whether his performances for West Brom warrant the reported £18 million price-tag, however, is debatable.
Baggies boss Darren Moore denied that the striker is close to leaving the Hawthorns when speaking to reporters last night, suggesting that he is still very much a West Brom player, as quoted by Sky Sports News:
“What I will say to you is what I’ve said before. A lot of our players have been coveted and the football club will notify the whole world if any players are to leave. Jay Rodriguez is a West Brom player and will remain so. If there’s any movement we’ll be the first to tell you.”
With just over 30 hours remaining until the transfer window slams shut, if Rodriguez is to leave West Brom, Tottenham, West Ham or Burnley will have to get down to business sooner rather than later.
