Former Leeds United and Norwich City winger Darren Huckerby has slammed TalkSPORT reporter Ian Abrahams for his controversial comments on both of Huckerby’s former sides gaining promotion from the Championship.

Abrahams, who is also known by his nickname Moose, claimed that because both Leeds and Norwich have foreign managers in Marcelon Bielsa and Daniel Farke, that it would be bad for English football if both clubs got promoted.

Norwich currently top the Championship table on 43 points from 21 league games, while Leeds are a close second with 42. There is now a five-point gap between the top two sides and third place, with Sheffield United five points back.

Abrahams reckons it is harsh on the likes of Sheffield United’s Chris Wilder, Aston Villa’s Dean Smith, Derby’s Frank Lampard and other English coaches in the Championship – but Huckerby reacted by slamming the TalkSPORT reporter.

Norwich are on an incredible run of nine matches unbeaten, with eight of those outings being wins. That has included triumphs over the likes of Swansea City, Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest.

Leeds are also performing well, reacting to the 4-1 loss to West Bromwich Albion before the international break by winning four consecutive Championship outings against Reading, Bristol City, Sheffield United and QPR.

The Whites can overtake Norwich on Saturday if they beat Bolton Wanderers away from home, with Norwich playing later on in the day away at Bristol City.
