Darren Huckerby has taken to Twitter to give his reaction to speculation that Ben Godfrey is on his way to Everton from Norwich City.
According to BBC Sport, Everton are set to sign Godfrey from Championship club Norwich in the summer transfer window.
It has been reported that the Toffees have agreed to pay the Canaries an initial transfer fee of £25 million to secure the services of the 22-year-old central defender.
The report has claimed that the youngster will have a medical soon, and that personal terms will not be a problem.
Former Norwich star Huckerby has given his take on the speculation, and he believes that it is a good move for all three parties.
Good signing for Everton?
Godfrey did well in the Premier League last season, as the 22-year-old centre-back showed that he can hold his own in the top flight of English football.
According to WhoScored, the England Under-21 international played 30 times in the league last season.
Everton could do with a new centre-back, and given Godfrey’s quality and age, he could prove to be a smart long-term signing for the Toffees.
