Leeds have announced a new club crest on Wednesday afternoon.

Former Leeds United winger Darren Huckerby has blasted the club’s new badge as “ridiculous” on Twitter after the Yorkshire giants opted to change their crest, while Ian Harte has urged fans to get behind the club.
Leeds have announced a new badge to mark the team’s centenary next year, after the club were first founded in 1919. However, reaction to the change in logo has prompted widespread criticism.
The club posted the new badge on their official Twitter account after claiming it had taken six months of research to come up with a new crest, as well as consulting 10,000 people.
Huckerby, who played for Leeds for a season and a half between 1999 and 2000, reacted by describing the club’s change in badge by stating is “that all someone could come up with?”
While former left-back and icon Harte, who is now the agent of a handful of Leeds players including Tyler Denton, also stated that he is “not a fan” but urged supporters to “get behind the players”.
Leeds could be set to don the new image on their shirts in their next match against Hull City on January 30, as they look to end a disappointing run of results which has piled the pressure on Thomas Christiansen.
With four losses in their last five matches, Leeds have slipped into tenth position of the Championship table as well as being knocked out of the FA Cup and must find their form again in order to keep their promotion hopes alive.
