The Rangers winger scored twice in an emphatic win for Steven Gerrard’s side at Ibrox last night.

Darren Huckerby has denied claims the Rangers winger Glenn Middleton had ‘attitude problems’ while at Norwich City. Rangers plucked Middleton out of the Norwich youth system in January and have elevated him into Steven Gerrard’s first team plans at Ibrox this season.
The 18-year-old scored his first senior goal against Dundee earlier this month and added another two against Ayr United on Wednesday.
Afterwards, Huckerby – the former Premier League winger who coached at Norwich until 2017 – tweeted his congratulations to Middleton, writing: “Great work(.) Surprised you didn’t get three! (H)ead down(,) keep improving”.
The 42-year-old’s message prompted one Norwich fan to question why Middleton was ever allowed to leave for Rangers, to which another responded: “Apparently he had attitude problems”.

But Huckerby leapt to the winger’s defence, replying: “Obviously you don’t know the kid then?”
And he added of Middleton: “He’s got high standards and maybe too hard on himself at times, he was a pleasure to work with and he’ll continue to get better”.
Middleton’s double helped Rangers to a 4-0 win against Ayr, with Nikola Katic and Alfredo Morelos also scoring to ensure the Gers’ progression to the Scottish League Cup semi-finals.
