Ibrox club Glasgow Rangers goalkeeper Allan McGregor’s performance for Scotland impressed Stoke City’s Darren Fletcher.

Fletcher, who won the Premier League title fives times and the Champions League once in 2008 with Manchester United, was impressed with Rangers goalkeeper McGregor’s performance for Scotland against Israel.
The 36-year-old goalkeeper, who returned to Rangers in the summer transfer window on a free, made a number of saves during Scotland’s 2-1 win against Israel away from home in the UEFA Nations League Group C1 on Thursday evening.
Fletcher, now at Stoke in the Championship in England, was impressed with the display produced by the former Besiktas and Hull City goalkeeper.
“Scotland are very fortunate that the score is only 2-1 because Allan McGregor was Man of the Match by far,” Fletcher said on Sky Sports Main Event on Thursday evening (9:50pm, October 11, 2018) after the match. “He made numerous saves.”

In good form
McGregor has been in great form for Rangers so far this season and has established himself as the first-choice goalkeeper in Steven Gerrard’s side.
The Rangers goalkeeper’s performances for Scotland in recent matches have also been brilliant, and it seems that he is now his national team’s number one between the posts.
