Darren Ferguson has confirmed to the Thorne Gazette that his Doncaster Rovers side want to sign Conor Grant from Everton at the end of the season.

Grant has been on loan at Doncaster this year, and the midfielder has played a key role as Rovers have earned promotion from League Two.

Ferguson now believes that Grant could be persuaded to move to the Keepmoat Stadium, with a price already agreed with Everton.

“The club have already agreed a deal with Everton for Conor Grant,” Ferguson said.

“The boy wouldn’t commit to us at the time which I understand because he wasn’t sure whether we’d go up or not.

“Now we’ve gone up, I think that’ll be a conversation with me, Gavin Baldwin and his agent to discuss the personal stuff.”

Grant only signed for Doncaster in January, but he has already racked up 16 appearances for Ferguson’s side.

The midfielder has impressed, scoring one goal and claiming three assists during his time at Rovers.

Doncaster have been the stand out team in League Two this season, and look to be well on their way to winning the title.

Grant has never played for Everton’s first-team to date, and it seems that his time at Goodison Park is set to come to an end this summer.

The youngster could feature tomorrow, in Doncaster’s match against Colchester United.
