Darren Bent has stated on talkSPORT (23/08/20 at 3:40 pm) that he would ‘keep Rob Holding around’ as rumours emerge that Leeds are interested in his services.
The Daily Mail previously claimed that newly-promoted Leeds are interested in signing the Arsenal defender, as the Yorkshire club are finding it difficult in securing the services of Ben White from Brighton.
Holding moved to the Emirates Stadium four years ago when he made the switch from then-Championship side Bolton, but he hasn’t really gone to the levels many were expecting him to.
Former Premier League striker, Bent, offered his thoughts on Holding, and amid rumours about his future, he thinks he should stay put in North London.
“I like Holding,” Bent told talkSPORT. “A lot of Arsenal fans I know, when they were going through these defensive struggles, they couldn’t wait for him to come back.
“It was like ‘when Holding gets back everything will be alright’. I would keep Holding around. I really like Holding.”
There’s no doubt that there is a quality player in Holding, it’s just a case of someone getting the best out of him.

The 24-year-old is very composed at the back and he can read defensive situation pretty well, but a lack of stability at Arsenal hasn’t helped his own progression, nor have injuries.
Perhaps a move to Elland Road will help him because he would then be a regular and play under a coach in Marcelo Bielsa, who could seemingly turn a League Two player into a Premier League player, such has been his impact in Yorkshire.
But Mikel Arteta is showing signs himself that he can tactically compete with the best and get the best out of his own players, so it will be interesting to see what the future holds for Holding.
