Darren Bent told talkSPORT that he thinks West Ham’s, Declan Rice, might get a ‘standing ovation’ at Tottenham next season.

That’s if England can win the Euros tonight at Wembley.

West Ham’s defensive rock is expected to line up in the middle of the park against the Italian’s, whilst Tottenham’s hitman, Harry Kane, is expected to lead the line.

If the Three Lions can secure glory then it will be the first time since 1966 that they have won a major trophy – and it will be utter carnage on England shores if that happens – from the fans that is, and let’s be honest, the players also.

Best off making it a Bank Holiday, Boris!

There’s no doubt that it’s going to tough, nail-biting and un-enjoyable to watch, but, one thing is for sure, it’s going to be a spectacle.

And if England can do the business then Bent questioned what reactions the players will get when they return to Premier League action.

“It’s going to be interesting to see if they do win it and the reaction when the Premier League starts to these players,” said Bent.

“You are going to see Declan Rice going to Spurs and getting a standing ovation.”

Well, the whole of England will go into utter mayhem if football comes home and every single player will be lauded for their efforts.

And it wouldn’t be a surprise, during the early weeks of the season, that those possible Euro 2020 winners are given a positive reception by opposition supporters.

Either way, this is the biggest game of their lives, and even though some have won the Premier League and been in the Champions League finals, nothing will top this night other than reaching a World Cup final.
