Darren Bent has raved about reported Liverpool target Thiago Alcantara on talkSPORT.
The former Tottenham Hotspur striker believes that the Bayern Munich central midfielder is a top player and has spoken highly of his attributes.
Bent, who now works as a pundit for talkSPORT, believes that for the reported transfer fee that Liverpool need to pay, they would make a bargain signing.
According to The Guardian, Liverpool are interested in signing the 29-year-old central midfielder, who is valued at €30 million (£27.06 million) by his club Bayern.
Bent said on takSPORT: “What a signing for me, and they are talking about only £25 million as well. It’s interesting to me because he is a top, top player. He is probably the most comfortable player in possession on the ball even if someone is tight to him.
“The fact that it’s only £25 million and he has only been linked with Liverpool. I mean, where are Arsenal or Manchester City or United, these guys? Because you would like to think he would get into most midfields, and he is only 29 as well.”
Bent added: “He is a top, top player and for £25 million as well, that is a bargain.”
Bargain signing for Liverpool
Thiago is one of the best players in the world, as he showed with his admirable performances in the knockout rounds of the Champions League this past season.
The former Barcelona player played a key role in Bayern winning Europe’s premier club competition, and he is a serial winner.
Thiago would make the Liverpool midfield stronger, and for the reported price of €30 million (£27.06 million), he would be a bargain signing, especially as he is still only 29 years of age and is in his prime.
Liverpool will be aiming to win the Premier League title again next season and also compete in the Champions League.
