Darren Bent has claimed that Arsenal can ‘lure’ Ivan Toney to the club from Brentford, as he told talkSPORT (05/10/21 at 7:25 am)
The former Premier League striker thinks Toney has shown in the Premier League that he is the ‘real deal’.
Arsenal would have seen first hand what Toney is like when he caused them and Ben White all sorts of problems on the opening day of the season.
He didn’t get on the scoresheet that evening, but he made sure that the Arsenal players knew who he was.
When Bent was asked whether the Gunners could sign the Brentford ace, he issued this straightforward response.
“Could they lure him away from Brentford?” said Bent. “Well, of course. Yes (he would be a good fit for Arsenal). It’s early days.
“But what he has shown so far at Brentford, he is the real deal, not in terms of his goal return, just the way he is bullying people and he never shys away a challenge.
“I think he is definitely destined for big things.”

With Alexandre Lacazette nearing the end of his contract, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s form falling off a cliff, those in North London could do with an up and coming hitman.
Toney would fit that mould because he has the technique and calmness to play the ball on the ground, link up play and open up pockets of spaces in the final third.
But then he can show his hard-hitting ways and can use his sheer strength to just bully defenders off the ball.
Then he is deadly and ice-cold inside the penalty area and a player, who if you feed with chances, he won’t let you down and he will score.
