The former Aston Villa and Derby County striker believes that Tuanzebe is a quality defender.
Ex-Villa midfielder Lee Hendrie also backed the United defender to be a good signing for Leeds and hailed his versatility.
According to The Sun on Sunday (print edition, page 63, July 26, 2020), Leeds are interested in signing Tuanzebe from the Red Devils in the summer transfer window.
Bent said on talkSPORT (5:40pm, August 30, 2020) : “I liked him when he was at United, he had a few opportunities, and I thought, ‘Maybe they have found someone who can long term can be very, very good’. He has had one or two injuries, but I think for Leeds he would be superb.”
Hendrie responded: “Yeah, I do, yeah. I mean, obviously, he had a spell at Aston Villa. He is very versatile across that back-four which is a great option for Bielsa.”
Good signing for Leeds United?
Tuanzebe has had injury problems, and the defender has not really kicked on since returning to United from his loan spells at Villa.
The 22-year-old played just 187 minutes in the Premier League and made three appearances in the Europa League for the Red Devils last season, according to WhoScored.
Although Leeds have just signed Robin Koch, the Whites could do with another (senior) central defender in their squad to go along with the German and Liam Cooper.
The West Yorkshire outfit will play in the Premier League next season after winning automatic promotion from the Championship.
