Darren Bent has said on talkSPORT (4:36pm, February 13, 2023) that Southampton should get back Ralph Hasenhuttl, who is reportedly a candidate to replace Jesse Marsch at Leeds United.

The former Tottenham Hotspur striker believes that Southampton should simply get Hasenhuttl back.

Bent made the comments when he was told live on air that Southampton were in talks with Marsch, who was sacked by Leeds last week.

The Athletic are reporting this morning that Southampton are set to make their final decision on the American boss.

Marsch is the leading candidate to replace Nathan Jones at Southampton.

Jones replaced Hasenhuttl as the Southampton earlier in the season, but he could not get positive results for the team and has now been relieved of his duties from St. Mary’s Stadium.

Interestingly, Hasenhuttl, 55, has been linked with Leeds as well.

According to iNews earlier this week, Leeds are interested in appointing former Southampton manager Hasenhuttl.

Relegation candidates

Both Leeds and Southampton are in real danger of getting relegated from the Premier League at the end of the season.

Leeds are 17th in the league table at the moment with 19 points from 22 matches, just a point above the relegation zone.

Meanwhile, the Saints are at the foot of the table with 15 points from 22 games.
