The striker once claimed he would have favoured a move to Celtic over their Old Firm rivals.

Darren Bent has suggested he once had a chance to sign for Celtic.
Bent, who scored 106 goals in 277 Premier League games for clubs including Tottenham Hotspur, Aston Villa and Sunderland, is currently without a club after leaving Derby County last summer.
And asked whether he could follow Jermain Defoe – his former Spurs and England teammate who is now on the books of Celtic’s Old Firm rivals, Rangers – into Scottish football, the 35-year-old told Goals on Sunday: “It’s something I’ve looked at before, yeah – a couple of links there.
“There were a few conversations. I think Celtic, back in the day. But the timing wasn’t great for me. Obviously because things were going pretty well down here.
“But it’s something I’ve looked at. It’s obviously a league that’s fascinating. When you talk about Rangers and Celtic you talk about arguably two of the biggest clubs in world football. It’s definitely something I would do, yeah.”
Speaking to Talksport earlier this season, Bent said that given the choice between Celtic and Rangers, he would favour a move to the Bhoys.

“Being a striker, and me liking Henrik Larsson, probably (his preference) would have been Celtic,” he admitted, before apologising to the station’s Rangers-leaning host, Jim White.
The former £22 million man*, who played against Neil Lennon’s Bolton side while on Derby’s books, could still be signed by the Parkhead boss outside of the transfer window.
Would Bent have been a good addition for Celtic? And could he still be?
