Darren Bent has said on talkSPORT (5:54pm, January 16, 2023) that he would take West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice at Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal.

Arsenal have been linked with a move for West Ham midfielder Rice.

The Times have reported that the Gunners have made the England international their top target in the summer of 2023.

Chelsea are also reported to be keen on signing the 24-year-old, who can also operate as a defender.

The Athletic have also claimed interest in Rice from Arsenal.

Former Tottenham Hotspur striker Bent believes that Rice would be a brilliant signing for Arsenal, and has said that he would pay £80 million for the West Ham star.

Bent is an Arsenal fan.

Darren Bent on West Ham’s Declan Rice to Arsenal rumours

The pundit said: “I would snap your hand off for that.”

Bent added: “Someone like Declan Rice, him and Partey in midfield, try to break that down.”

The talkSPORT pundit said when asked how much he would pay for Rice: “£80 million.”

Could a transfer happen?

In our view, if Arsenal win the Premier League title this season or finish in the top four, then they could be able to sign Declan Rice from West Ham United in the summer of 2023.

The Hammers are a big and established club in the Premier League, but Arsenal are bigger and more ambitious.

If Arsenal make a big offer to West Ham, then the Hammers are unlikely to turn it down.

Rice himself could be tempted to a move to Arsenal, who have a young and dynamic team and are going places under manager Mikel Arteta.
