The 2024 summer transfer window seems to be getting in full flow now and Everton are hoping to make some serious moves.

The Profit and Sustainability Rule (PSR) worries are behind them because that has been dealt with in June following Lewis Dobbin’s transfer to Aston Villa.

The Everton fans went through a lot of emotions last season from points deductions to unwanted record-breaking winless runs.

But Sean Dyche did what he does best, which is to keep calm and maintain the club’s status in England’s top flight.

Now that the Toffees are hoping to elevate their squad this summer, so they don’t even touch the relegation battle ahead of the new Premier League campaign, especially given that it will be their final season at Goodison Park.

No Upcoming Fixtures

One of Everton’s biggest issues during the recent campaign was their lack of goals – they only scored 40 goals, only bottom-of-the-table Sheffield United scored less.

There might be suggestions that Newcastle want to sign Dominic Calvert-Lewin, but he is still at the club and you feel he needs a dancing partner.

Could that come in the form of Hull City winger Jaden Philogene? Everton have a bid accepted for the ‘electric’ winger, but Ipswich Town are also chasing him, sources told HITC.

Darren Bent is certainly a fan of the Hull City star and how he is a ‘hungry’ player, as he told talkSPORT (08/07/24 at 4:45 pm).

But he is backing Philogene to secure a transfer to newly-promoted Ipswich Town and the ‘right character’ for manager Kieran McKenna.

Jaden Philogene wanted by Everton and Ipswich Town

“It looks like to me he (McKenna) is signing the right characters,” said Bent. “Jaden Philogene, I am a big fan of his at Hull City. He was at Aston Villa as a kid.

“But he looks like the right type of character that the manager Kieran McKenna would like to sign. I like the fact that he isn’t going out there and signing that big-name player.

“He is signing good quality players. I am not saying he is looking at next season and potentially if Ipswich go down because I don’t think they will. But it looks like he is signing good, young and hungry characters.”

Jaden Philogene ready for Premier League return

The 22-year-old was on Aston Villa’s books before they sold him last summer to Hull and he proved his worth in the Championship.

He scored 12 goals and supplied six assists last season as the Tigers narrowly missed out on a play-off spot – and was lauded ‘outrageous’ by his manager after he signed from Aston Villa.

This time last summer, Philogene was preparing for pre-season with Aston Villa under Unai Emery and for several matches he was fantastic.

Some felt he was Villa’s best player across the summer, but he wanted regular starts, he made the brave move to Hull and now he is deserving of a return to England’s top-flight, whether it’s Ipswich or Everton.
