West Bromwich Albion defender Jonny Evans was linked with a move to Manchester City in the summer transfer window.

Evans is one of the best central defenders in the Premier League and is a key figure in the current West Brom team.
The 29-year-old has been on the books of the Baggies since the summer of 2015 when he joined from Premier League rivals Manchester United.
According to The Guardian, West Brom had to pay United an initial transfer fee of £6 million in order to secure the services of the Northern Ireland international.

Evans was linked with moves away from the Hawthorns in the summer transfer window.
According to The Mirror, Premier League giants Manchester City and Arsenal wanted to sign the centre-back in the summer transfer window.
Derby striker Bent, who has played for Tottenham Hotspur, Sunderland and Aston Villa among other clubs in his career so far, has spoken highly of Evans, and has suggested that the West Brom star does not get enough credit.

“I think Jonny Evans doesn’t get enough credit in that department,” Bent told Sky Sports.
“He is quick and he is good on the ball and he can play, and I think he is exactly the kind of defender that Man City would have needed.”
