Darren Bent has urged Arsenal on Twitter to give Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang whatever he wants to sign a new contract.
The former Tottenham Hotspur striker, who is a boyhood Arsenal fan, made the comment on Twitter following Aubameyang’s goal for the Gunners in the FA Community Shield against Liverpool at Wembley Stadium in London on Saturday evening.
The Gabon international striker found the net in the 12th minute with a brilliant finish, and Bent has urged Arsenal to make sure that the 31-year-old stays at the Emirates Stadium next summer.
Aubameyang is out of contract at Arsenal at the end of next season, but head coach Mikel Arteta has told Football.London that he is confident that an agreement will be reached over a new deal.
New contract a must
Aubameyang is arguably the best player on the books of Arsenal at the moment, and the striker has to be handed a new contract.
The 31-year-old scores goals, leads by example and is an inspiration to his teammates.
For Arsenal to have a successful future, they need to keep hold of Aubameyang, who is in top form and is at peak of his game.
