The Tottenham Hotspur star has been heavily linked with an exit from the club this summer.

When speaking exclusively to talkSPORT, Darren Bent suggested that Tottenham ace Christian Eriksen was scared of a backlash from the club’s fans when he recently commented on his future.
The Dane is out of contract with Spurs in the summer of 2020, and he has been linked with a big money to move to Real Madrid, according to a report from the Mirror.
He recently said that it could be time for a new challenge, without actually saying that he wants to leave Tottenham, when speaking exclusively to Danish media outlet EB:
“I have the wildest and deepest respect for everything that has happened in Tottenham, nor will it be negative. But I have also said that I would like to try something new. I hope there will be a clarification during the summer. That’s the plan.”
And when speaking exclusively to talkSPORT Bent suggested that the Spurs star knew exactly what he was doing when he made those remarks:

“He came out and said he wants to leave without actually saying that. It tells me he’s scared of the backlash. I think he’s come out and said the right words.”
The Tottenham play-maker has been one of Mauricio Pochettino’s most important players over the past five years, and losing him will undoubtedly be a blow.
Spurs are rumoured to be in the market for Giovani Lo Celso and Tanguy Ndombele (Daily Mail), however, and if they manage to sign both players, it will certainly help them cope, should the Denmark international leave.
