Jermain Defoe has reportedly agreed to join Scottish Premiership side Rangers.

Darren Bent has stated the people in Scotland won’t understand ‘how big a coup’ Jermain Defoe’s reported move to Rangers is.
Sky Sports claimed on Thursday that the 36-year-old striker has agreed terms with the Glasgow club and has is set to put pen-to-paper on an 18-month loan deal from Bournemouth.
It is said that Defoe’s deal is subject to him passing a medical as he will then be able to join the club’s mid-season break in Tenerife.
Former Premier League striker Bent played with Defoe during their time at Tottenham and for the national side as he described the England stalwart as ‘the best finisher’ he has ever worked with.
“He is the best finisher I have ever played with in terms of hitting the ball with both feet,” Bent told Sky Sports News on 03/01/2019 at 7:10 pm.
“Rangers are getting a real player. It surprises me that no-one in the Premier League [someone who] is fighting relegation came in for him or even some of the high-end Championship clubs, just to get them over the line.
“But for someone like Steven Gerrard, who knows him really, really well [and] played with him for England to get a player like this. I don’t think people in Scotland will understand how big a coup this is for Rangers.”

If the reported deal is finalised then Defoe will be hoping to fire Rangers and his former England teammate, Steven Gerrard to the Scottish Premiership title
The Gers, who beat Celtic on home soil prior to the winter break, are level on points with Brendan Rodgers side, but their Old Firm rivals do have a game in hand.
Despite playing only 21 minutes of Premier League football this term for the Cherries, Defoe does have a remarkable record in the top-tier of English football.
The former Portsmouth, Spurs and West Ham forward has played 496 matches for a number of clubs, scoring 163 goals and supplying 27 assists.
