Darren Bent said on talkSPORT (7:45pm, January 31, 2021) that Tottenham Hotspur defender Japhet Tanganga would be a good signing for West Bromwich Albion.
The former Tottenham striker, who now works as a pundit for talkSPORT, raved about Tanganga, who can play as a centre-back and as a right-back.
Bent outlined the attributes of the 21-year-old and said that he would be a “terrific signing” for the Baggies.
According to The Express & Star, West Brom are interested in signing Tanganga on loan from Premier League rivals Tottenham on deadline day.
The Athletic has also reported interest in the 21-year-old defender from West Brom, as well as clubs from Italy and Scotland.
Ben said on talkSPORT (7:45pm, January 31, 2021): “I like Tanganga. I think he is very, very good. He is strong, he is powerful, he can play in a number of positions, left-back, centre-back, right-back.
“The way obviously Sam Allardyce likes to defend, I don’t think he would be impressed with what he has seen at West Brom, and that would be a terrific signing for me.”

Good move for Japhet Tanganga?
According to WhoScored, Tanganga has played thrice in the Europa League, and twice each in the FA Cup and the EFL Cup for Spurs so far this season.
Tanganga is unlikely to get much playing time at Spurs in the coming weeks and months, and if Sam Allardyce wants him at West Brom, then he must want to play him.
Getting a decent amount of playing time at West Brom would be beneficial to the youngster’s growth and development as a footballer.
