Wolverhampton Wanderers will be looking to secure a top-seven Premier League finish at the end of the season.
Darren Bent has claimed that Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo deserves to win Manager of the Year for what he has done at the club this season.
Former Premier League striker Bent also admitted that he ‘always felt’ that Nuno’s side would finish higher in the Premier League than near the bottom.
The 2018 promotion winners are in the driving seat to finish in the top-seven despite this team only being in England’s top-flight for less than one season.
Nonetheless, speaking to the Debate on Sky Sports PL (17/04/2019 at 10:35 pm), Bent spoke about Wolves’ recent rise from the second tier of English football.
“Wolves have been more impressive,” Bent told the Debate. “To come up from the Championship. I always felt with the squad they had aswell that they’d finish a lot higher in the league then they would near the bottom.
“They had players last season playing in the Championship that were Premier League players. Ruben Neves was scoring worldies every week.
“For me, he [Nuno] would be my manager of the season. Yes, Klopp and Pep deserve it, but the Wolves manager has done a fantastic job.”
In recent weeks, Wolves have endured a number of bad results which has slightly derailed their season as they will be looking to get back on track.
At the start of the month, they were dumped out of the FA Cup in dramatic fashion at the hands of Watford, who came from 2-0 down to book their place in the final.
Unfortunately for them, they backed it up by losing at Southampton last time out and they will be looking to make amends when they host relegation-threatened Brighton on Saturday.
