Darren Bent has claimed that Harry Kane will stay at Tottenham Hotspur ‘for the rest of his career’, as he told Premier League Productions (28/03/22 at 5:20 pm).
The TV pundit can’t see Kane leaving Spurs, ‘unless a crazy bid of £150 million’ is made for the England captain.
Last summer, it was well-documented that Kane wanted to head for the Tottenham exit door, with Manchester City being the main targets.
Nobody yet knows what will happen with the player in the summer, whether he will sign a new deal or ask to leave.
At the end of the day, it all comes down to trophies, as Bent thinks he can see him staying on, even though the north London club aren’t winning the big trophies any time soon.
“He has been there since he was a kid,” said Bent. “I guess you can look at ‘what trophies is he going to win at Spurs?’ No disrespect. He’s not going to win the Premier League anytime soon or the Champions League.
“Then you start looking at domestic competitions. If he’s going to win the FA Cup or League Cup, and that’s enough for him at Tottenham, then who are we to question and say ‘that’s not enough’. Only he will know.
“For him, unless it’s a crazy bid of £150 million. I can see him being at Spurs for the rest of his career, if that’s the case, then he won’t have any regrets over that.”

That’s the key for Spurs, keeping Kane on board beyond the summer and then having him signed on the dotted line.
If he does that, then there is no reason why Antonio Conte won’t follow suit and Spurs fans can then dream big.
Securing Champions League football is the key, but they have a fight on their hands because their north London rivals are leading that charge.
Either way, this forthcoming summer is huge for all involved at Tottenham because if Daniel Levy and Co. get this wrong, then the fans will make their feelings clear.
