Darren Anderton was fuming on Twitter as he labelled Tottenham as ‘tired’ and ‘sloppy’ following their 2-0 defeat against Chelsea in the Premier League on Wednesday night.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side, who suffered a narrow defeat at Burnley over the weekend, lost their second game in the space of three days, this time against their London rivals.

Pedro opened the scoring in the second half before Spurs defender Kieran Trippier had a moment to forget when he ended up passing the ball into the back of his own net to the delight of the Stamford Bridge supporters.

Nonetheless, former Premier League midfielder Anderton was clearly unhappy with Tottenham’s performance as he sent out a warning on his personal Twitter account ahead of their game against Arsenal this Saturday.

There is no doubt that Mauricio Pochettino’s side deserved the defeat as they put in another poor performance on the road, but they will need to up their game for the weekend.

The Gunners, who were also in action on Wednesday night, thumped Eddie Howe’s Bournemouth 5-1 on home soil as Unai Emery will be looking to do the league double over his north London rivals.

Pochettino’s side remain third in the Premier League table, eight points behind second-placed Manchester City and nine points behind leaders Liverpool.

On a more worrying note, they are only four points ahead of fourth-placed Arsenal and five points ahead of fifth-placed Chelsea as they will be looking over their shoulders in these coming weeks.
