Tottenham Hotspur great Darren Anderton has praised the character that his former side showed during their win over Inter Milan last night.

Tottenham had to be patient during the contest at Wembley, but they ultimately came out 1-0 winners over the Italian giants.

Christian Eriksen blasted the ball beyond Samir Handanovic in the latter stages of the match, as Spurs picked up a vital three points.

The pressure may have proved too much for Tottenham in past years, but Mauricio Pochettino’s side are no longer a team to buckle.

And Anderton was delighted that his side have kept their hopes of progressing in the Champions League alive.

Tottenham have had to fight to stay in Europe’s elite competition, but they now have a genuine chance of making it through to the knockout stages.

Spurs have one game remaining in the group stage, and they are likely to have to go to Barcelona and win if they are to stand a chance of qualifying.
