Tottenham Hotspur have landed Nuno Espirito Santo as their new manager, and Darren Anderton now wants him to sign Raul Jimenez.
Tottenham’s farcical hunt for a new boss mercifully came to its end last week with Nuno landing the job on a two-year deal.
Nuno left his post as Wolverhampton Wanderers boss at the end of last season, bringing an end to four successful years at Molineux.
The Portuguese boss now takes over from his former Porto manager Jose Mourinho, and will be expected to play a more positive brand of football than his predecessor.
Fabio Paratici will be leading Tottenham’s recruitment for new signings, but Nuno will surely have a huge say on who Spurs bring in.
Now, former Tottenham ace Darren Anderton has told The Daily Star (04/07, p43) that he would love to see Nuno raid Wolves for striker Raul Jimenez.
The Mexican star has been vital for Nuno in recent years, smashing 48 goals and 18 assists in 110 games at Wolves.
The 30-year-old is only just coming back from a terrible skull injury suffered in November, so spending big money on him now may be something of a risk.

Wolves do need money though and Jimenez is unlikely to increase his value in the future, whilst agent Jorge Mendes has close ties to Tottenham and Paratici, meaning a move isn’t completely out of the question.
Anderton believes that Jimenez is ‘different class’, remarking at ‘what a player’ he is whilst crossing his fingers that Nuno can engineer a deal to bring the striker to Tottenham in a big move.
“I would love for Nuno to bring Jimenez in,” said Anderton. “He’s a different class… oh my God, what a player.”
“He had that horrific skull injury but manager usually bring in a player or two from their old club so, fingers crossed there’s an opportunity for that maybe to happen,” he added.
