Nottingham Forest have been linked heavily with Jack Marriott of Peterborough United in recent times.

Peterborough United owner Darragh MacAnthony has suggested on Twitter that Nottingham Forest are not yet out of the running for Jack Marriott, even though they have signed Lewis Grabban.

Grabban has joined Forest to strengthen their attack, but it could be that Aitor Karanka’s spending is not yet done.

Forest have been heavily linked with Marriott this summer, and MacAnthony suggested that the Reds were not entirely out the running.

Indeed, the Posh chairman claimed that Karanka had sat down for dinner with Steve Evans recently.

Marriott looks almost certain to leave Posh this summer, after hitting 33 goals last season.

If Forest do manage to bring him to the City Ground then it would be a massive statement of intent.

Forest have already spent big this summer, so to bring in another big-money forward would prove beyond any doubt that they are determined to give Karanka the best chance possible to achieve promotion.

The Peterborough Evening Telegraph claim that Posh are looking for a £6 million fee if they are to sell their prized asset.
